The rights of African Americans have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that some are unhappy about their appearances. Blacks have the "right" to change their nose if decided...just like whites have the "right" to have buttocks impants or get a "tan" to become (darker) if they want! Ha!!!
There are black (very dark) people in Africa that have small noses. A person that has a HUGE nose doesn't want a smaller nose to "look white". They want to NOT have their nose taking up most of their face, and they want to be able to love their nose.
Are whites the ONLY race with straight noses? Obviously you feel threatened by black people that the biggest thing on your mind is that we are trying to be like you, when they are endless reasons to the contrary.

What is a white nose? Take a good look at all the black people you encounter, and you might notice that the "Black nose" pictured here (in size only) represents maybe 1/4 of our noses. There is nothing wrong with having a large nose, but the one pictured is ridiculous and insulting. My nose is probably smaller than yours and I am Black with a predominantly Black heritage. And, why focus on Black noses? Rhinoplasty is a predominantly WHITE phenomenon. I hate it when people lump sum all Blacks (or any race/ethnicity) together. Those people that go on about their rights are not the ones running to get surgery. Also, being immersed in a culture that values light skin, straight hair, and small noses make many of our young children feel inferior. This creates a complex that is not easily resolved. Ask yourself why Whites get nose jobs? ----to look like some ideal other than their own. White girls are disproportionately affected by anorexia and plastic surgery. We are ALL affected by the cultural standard of beauty. Unfortunately, the cultural standard of beauty in the USA is that of a White phenotype.
I am bothered that you and those like you don't think before you make generalizations. For instance, as a Black person, I am disgusted by the current trend (materialistic) in Hip-Hop music. But, someone like you may think that all Blacks are into it, when in actuality it is the White dollar that keeps Hip-Hop afloat. We only represent 13% of the population, yet Black music tops the Billboard charts. Just take the time to think before you make assumptions and generalizations. Think historically and above all, READ.
