Sidra, i absolutely agree. The media bombard us with so many images of perfection(celeb or otherwise) that it make us mere mortals feel inadequate.
I sometimes feel i have to live up to these ridiculously high standards and so i'm constantly striving for an unachievable goal. I'd love to be able to say i prefer real beauty but i'm ashamed to say the media brainwashing is slowly working it's magic on me. Plus, people that i thought were naturally beautiful but weren't 'perfect' have had work done - so what hope is there for the rest of us?
It sounds terrible but i'm glad that males in the spotlight are slowly coming under fire for putting on/losing weight or looking rough because for so long it's only been women that are criticised for these things. In an ideal world nobody would be criticised for looking human but as long as media and the world of celebrity exist, i think it's about time men stopped drooling over seemingly perfect images of women and started feeling the pressure to look picture perfect too.
