Skin Excess After Weight Loss

Skin Excess After Weight Loss

This 22 year old woman from the Dallas area presented to my Southlake plastic surgery practice with complaints of skin excess after weight loss. Through a self-motivated program of diet and exercise, she had managed to lose over 70 lbs, down to her goal of 140 lbs. Now that she had a healthy and energetic lifestyle, her residual skin laxity was particularly bothersome, and she had sought my assistance to surgically address her areas of concern.
Approximately six weeks after we performed a simultaneous tummy tuck and breast lift to tighten her lax abdomen and rejuvenate her breasts, we agreed on performing a brachioplasty (arm lift) to remove her excess skin and to contour the shape of her arms. The surgery was performed without complications, and she was feeling great after just a few days. I had designed the scar location such that it lies in the middle to back portion of her arms, and is only visible in certain positions. She is very happy with the new shape of her arms. Photos are shown just under 2 months from surgery.
